Asst. Prof. M. Mustafa Cetin, who leads the SOPR Lab at KHAS, İstanbul, Türkiye, and his colleague Asst. Prof. Hao Li from Zhejiang University and ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center, Hangzhou, China, has currently published an article at ACS Org. In this work, Dr. Cetin, Dr. Li, and their colleagues have synthesized a prism-shaped cage-type molecule (pictured) using a Lewis-acid-catalyzed Friedel–Crafts reaction. Upon being available online, the work has been recognized by the ChemistryViews (The Magazine of Chemistry Europe) of Wiley-VCH GmbH with the title of “Prism-Shaped Organic Cage” on Dec 10, 2022:
